(1) The home for outstation private busses in Bangalore is Kalasapalaya, which is closer to City Market junction. Here you get to see booking counters from all the private travel agencies and operators. You can also find groups of booking counters in Majestic area and Madiwala. Other than these, booking counters are scattered all around the city. (2) Online ticket booking options are available with few private bus travel operators but not all of them. There are few sites like www.redbus.in, www.yatra.com, www.simplybus.com, www.ticketgoose.com where you can book tickets for different busses. But my personal advice is, it is always better to book directly from the travels website or getting it from counter avoiding brokerage agencies. I had a bitter experience once I booked through brokers. I hope the process of booking bus tickets through online broker websites are not very matured. (3) Private bus services like Abtx, kpn, sharma have their own websites with e-booking options. If you are travelling to TamilNadu, then KPN and ABTX are good options.(4) Tickets for public buses are tendered in counters at Majestic. Public bus tickets cost 30-70% cheaper than private transport. For some routes, private bus ticket costs 2 times the public one. KSRCT busses are pretty okay and they do provide online booking options. No online booking available for SETC. Private operators fair varies much and no standard rate established yet.(5) Beware of cheating meddlers esp. in the Majestic area where they promise to get you a ticket but they always ditch you. Be very careful when a stranger is coming to you saying that he will get you a ticket!Find more such online bus ticket tips.
